Looking to get into kiting?? Great!
Great to hear that finding our website or watching others on the beach having fun inspired you to have a go yourself!
We are a local club that promotes the sport and safety where we can, but we are not a kiteschool, and do not provide lessons ourselves. However, we will point you in the right direction to get into the sport. First of all... What exactly would you be interested in?
If you would like to get lessons to get kitesurfing we strongly recommend to use a BKSA/IKO certified instructor or kiteschool. Unfortunately there are at the moment no instructors that teach kitesurfing at Weston beach, because the conditions are not the easiest to learn in and the big tidal range means there is only water for a few hours each day to surf on, too limiting for most schools and instructors to be able to make a living. Nearby places to learn are in South Wales or Devon. Feel free to contact us for more information. We are hoping to work more closely together with one or more certified kite schools in the future and will update this website when that happens.
If you have had lessons and are familiar with basic kite safety and just need to start getting some miles in on your own kit, do not hesitate to ask other kiters at the beach for tips and advice, we are all a friendly bunch, and always happy to watch each other's back! It might be helpful to join our Facebook group to get to know people and see when others are going to be at which beach. The Facebook is open to anyone interested, members and non-members.
If it's landboarding or buggying you're interested in, you could enquire at kite schools or meet up with SWAT-K, a local friendly club that is very approachable, although depending on your requirements you might have to become a member with them too.
